Mechanics of Writing & Assistance

Students will actively engage in writing two essays at scheduled dates throughout the semester.

Prior to handing in your research papers, all students need to vet their work through this handy grammar/spelling app.

Grammarly.com Download the app now onto your desktop.

I strongly recommend you make use of this app in all of your college papers. It's informative, user-friendly.  It will assist you in your knowledge and use of the mechanics of writing!

Assistance from the Cazenovia College website...

The Center for Teaching and Learning is a unique facility staffed with both professional educators and students (peer tutors) who provide service to all students who need extra help in their college work.

It is not unusual for students to need assistance in maximizing their educational growth in a variety of areas during their four years at the college.

The Center for Teaching & Learning assists students in these efforts.  Make an appointment well in advance (1.5 weeks) at the Center to assist you in the writing process.

I am also happy to see drafts at a minimum of 1.5 weeks in advance of due date. Please inform me that I will be expecting your draft prior to submission.

The Center should be used throughout your career at the college to help you in the refinement and organization of your writing examples. 315.655.7296

Elements & Principles of Visual Design

The  elements  and  principles of design   are the foundational building blocks used to create a visual work.  The elements of design are the A, B, C's that are put together by any artist or  designer  to create an image or object.   The  grammar  of how these elements are used create the overall work.   Good or bad, all visual works will contain most of these elements, if not all, the nine elements of design. The  principles of design  can be thought of as what and artist or designer does with the elements of design.   How we manipulate the elements and principles of design, or, how we employ them, creates an impression that an audience will interpret.  These are the artist and designers writing tools of how they express an  idea,  if  you will.  How we apply the  principles  of design determines how  successful we are in crea...
